Champion Macra Public Speaker

The Macra National Impromptu Public Speaking Final was held in Carlow this year. Conor Don Buckley a UCC student representing Macroom, was crowned the winner, making him the youngest winner in the history of the competition.
Conor faced tough opposition in the form of a priest from Longford and a car sales rep. from Laois. On the night Conor’s choice of topics was Mo Mowlan or Prince Nasam Hamad. Conor choose Prince Nassan Hamad and talked his way into the history books.
