Champion Macra Public Speaker
The Macra National
Impromptu Public Speaking Final was held in Carlow this year. Conor Don Buckley
a UCC student representing Macroom, was crowned the winner, making him the
youngest winner in the history of the competition.
Conor faced tough
opposition in the form of a priest from Longford and a car sales rep. from
Laois. On the night Conor’s choice of topics was Mo Mowlan or Prince Nasam
Hamad. Conor choose Prince Nassan Hamad and talked his way into the history
books.
