The Greening of Mikey Joe

A local fund raising event entitled the Greening of Mikey Joe was held on St. Patrick’s Day in O’Keeffe’s pub, Rylane where Maureen Blighe dyed Mikey Joe’s beard green. The sum of IE£ 570.00 was raised for the local hospital in Macroom. The Matron Ms. Joan Healy on accepting the cheque stated that the proceeds would go towards the building of an oratory for the patients.
